There, he built a simple hut of wood and clay, and lived a life of austerity, fasting, prayer, and manual labor. He was renowned for his silence, which many described as more eloquent than words. Peasants, widows, and orphans sought his counsel, drawn by his serene presence and reputation for wisdom. Though he spoke rarely, his few words carried great spiritual weight, as if emerging from deep communion with God.
